Why We Love Photographing Weddings at The Ruth



On this blog, I am going to talk a bit about why I would do another wedding at The Ruth by Beau Monde in Charlotte, North Carolina. One of the biggest reasons couples and photographers love The Ruth is the light-filled atmosphere. The venue was renovated from a former production facility into an airy, modern open floor space with clean lines, neutral tones, and oversized windows. For us photographers, this is great because there is plenty of natural light to work with, which is perfect for timeless wedding photography and candid documentary-style moments.


The majority of the time, couples have their ceremony in the outdoor space, but you can have it inside as well. This is a helpful option for those worried about the unpredictable North Carolina weather.

The outdoor ceremony space is open and perfect for photography with direct light on a sunny day. Direct light can be good sometimes, especially when you have the option to have a mix of both in your wedding gallery. Some photographers are not too comfortable in these scenarios, but I actually think it is a great way to add a different look to your wedding gallery. When done the right way, a mixture of soft light and direct light can help complete your story.
